5 Tips to keep in mind for a Spring Wedding

It’s finally Springtime and wedding season is ready to kick off!!

I don’t know about you; but waking up to crisp cool morning with grass turning from a dull brown to a bright green is a boost of energy for me. Currently, I am thinking of how my lawn will look in summer, and most importantly to you as wedding photographer, I am going through a check list of must haves for the wedding season. I personally need to feel ready weeks before the wedding season kicks off. I realize that prepping for the season lets me sleep like a baby. But enough about me! While going through my check list, I started to think of things that couples should keep in mind when planning a Spring wedding. So, here are 5 tips to think off when planning a Spring Wedding:

Spring Wedding

1. Congrats, you beat the heat! Although the summertime is my favorite time of the year and a great time to have a wedding, your friends and family will thank you for the milder weather. Just remind them to bring something warm in case your wedding day turns into a cool night. Cool evenings and nights are typical in the Hudson Valley, but also magical.

2. Plan for a rainy day! A good amount of rain during Springtime sets plants up to grow beautiful and flowers to bloom colorfully. Bring an umbrella and a spare set of shoes to be on the cautious side. The umbrella can come handy even for creative photos. I would also suggest having a reliable person be in charge of this, preferably someone other than your fiancé.

3. Colors! Yes, colors do matter. I tend to shoot in outdoor settings and love when couples keep in mind the colors of the season that go well with the decorations. Do not get me wrong you can get very creative incorporating your colors of choice, and you should absolutely do exactly what you want on your day, however just giving a professional tip! I live in the Hudson Valley New York, and we are lucky to get all four seasons with all their splendor. Just keep in mind the colors of the season, and trust me you won’t go wrong!

4. Wedding dresses—Yes, go for mobility. Just in case those Spring showers come around and we are in the middle of a couple’s session, and we may have to make a run for it!

5. Allergies! I suffer from allergies, so you can bet I will be taking my seasonal allergy medicines. I will also bring more in case I need it. Do yourself a favor and think ahead if you suffer from allergies. Think tissues galore, and maybe a handkerchief intentionally placed.
